From Santa Fe, my adventures had me in the Albuquerque area for a show at a beautiful winery....except I wasn’t staying in Albuquerque, but a one horse town about 40 miles south called Bosque. I was staying with a family friend I hadn’t seen in about 13 years....it was off the railroad tracks on a dirt road where you can feel the rumbling of a passing train....train culture is highly tied into the area.....the nearby town of Belen used to be a major crossroads for passengers traveling from the east, and I got a personal tour of their museum called the Harvey House which was an enterprise to bring fine dining to travelers en route to other places....there are a lot of Harvey Houses all over the country, but not so many that have been preserved....this is Belen’s claim to fame. The “Harvey Girls” were mostly from the Midwest and were servers who were required to live upstairs and adhere to a strict code of conduct including a 10pm curfew....the Santa Fe train came by a couple times while I was upstairs by myself looking out of the bedroom window where a Harvey girl would have stayed....dreaming of meeting some guy most likely....

I made the trek the next day to the St. Clair Winery where I used my new rug which spruced up my “act”-there was a hilarious little kid dancing around the stage-I gave him a shaker and he was so into it.....I also had my first wine slushie.....

I now get 3 whole days off before my final 3 shows!
