We booked the flight based on Dorothy’s nap but she had also begun to push her morning nap back more in the recent two weeks. She fell asleep eventually half way into the flight.
Picked up our rental car, a SUV, and a toddler car seat. Dorothy ate some chicken I brought from home as we waited for John to install the car seat. Then off we went.
Roasted duck burrito. John got a few different tacos. This place makes their tortilla in house which was really good.
We checked into the hotel. The receptionist told me that they charge incidentals right upfront but would refund after the stay if there is no damage. I asked how come the incidentals are charged before rather than after, and she said it was a standard hotel policy. I had to say not really.
The wedding ceremony and reception were both held outdoor at the Santa Anita Park racetrack! Andrew and Rosalie’s three dogs were all part of the ceremony, and Rosalie arrived with a carriage with a horse. Dorothy loved seeing the dogs and the horse. It was a really warm day. Dorothy happily ate the bread as the couple arrived at the reception. It was probably the biggest priority for her. I really enjoyed the personal touches with their dogs, wedding videos (Andrew being a film editor, of course), and hearing the stories from the speeches. We left just right before 9pm as Dorothy had passed out. It’s hard to remember all the times we stayed until 11pm or later for weddings...
