So for Christmas I took my parents on a Hop on Hop Off tour of all the sites in Hollywood and LA. My parents wanted to play the tourists and so we did it and I promised to take care of lunch.
My dad enjoyed previous Hop on Hop Off tours and figured it would be a good way to see the city we have lived in from a tourist's perspective. I was excited to learn more about LA and not have to drive.
The tour started on Hollywood and Vine where the Dolby Theater is. I had never actually walked through it and was sad to see that it was just another mall! I swear how many malls do we need?! After we got to check out Chinese Theater and see the hand and foot prints up close. So cool!
I have seen the Dolby Theater multiple times, but never really had the desire to go down. Since our tour took off from here I figured it would be nice to finally see the famous theater. I think I expected more than just a mall. I thought the architecture would be more interesting. I was wrong, but least now I know.
Hollywood has so many interesting things to see. You know me I love street art and funny signage. These pictures capture my interests perfectly. The Chateau Marmont is just really interesting to me because it is talked about all the time. I wanted to go down, but I figured it might not be worth the trouble. It didn't look like you could see too much anyway. Maybe next year.
Okay I fully admit that I watch way too many Bravo shows. I can't help it! When I saw Pump I felt like I saw a movie star, I got so excited and the people on the bus were confused. Clearly they are not regular Vanderpump Rules or RH of Beverly Hills fans like me.
So it's a Wednesday and the LACMA is closed. I'm not a museum person, so this does not bother me. However the beautiful photo opportunities outside the LACMA really gets me excited! I've been dying to come here just to take pictures here. Finally I can say I did it!
So we have been here before, but my dad wanted to do lunch here and he was willing to walk from LACMA! That never ever happens so we took the opportunity fast.
Mum and dad had seafood from one a Seafood stand. Dad had fish and chips and mum fried oysters. I, on the other hand, had a carrot dog from Fritz Hot Dogs. O know it sounds silly, but I wanted something kind of healthy and different. It was okay, I wouldn't have it again but at least now I know.
After the tour, we met up at City Walk because Kuya was able to get us free parking there for our tour. Dad had a really short appointment, so we agreed to wait for him and watch a movie when he gets back. In the meantime we had time to kill so mum and I enjoyed ourselves.
During Christmas our family tends to watch a lot of movies. Tonight we saw the Big Short. It was pretty good! I wasn't sure if I was going to like it since it is so serious. It was pretty good and it got us into a debate in the car that led no where.
