We have just arrived in Nassau. I was worried that it would still be cloudy and maybe even rain, but it's a perfect day for being tourists. Kevin has pulled out all the stops and is rocking the most tourist appropriate outfit anyone could muster, and I have somehow managed to match him perfectly. Pictures will follow.
If there's anything Kevin and I both love, it's trying new foods. The other day while I was at the gym Kevin bought us a food tour excursion for while we're in Nassau.
We are currently just waiting for the rest of the group to arrive, and then we are off! I think it's safe to say that we are both more than excited to get some delicious food in our bellies.
Stop one was a neat little restaurant that serves us basically an entire meal, and everything in that meal consisted of conch.
I've actually never tried conch before, and I liked it just fine. Seeing the demonstration of how they harvest it and then seeing Kevin daringly try the reproductive organ of the male one definitely made the experience so much better.
Stop two: The John Watlings Distillery. AKA: Rum central.
Kevin and j both don't drink, but it was still beat to tour around and see the history of the place. The preservation and detail that goes into the process is kind of awesome.
